Compliance Assistant Director

Personal Insurance Compliance is seeking a talented professional to join their team as a Compliance Assistant Director, primarily supporting the Personal Insurance organization. Candidates located near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT; Charlotte, NC; Orlando, FL; Sunrise, FL; Aurora, IL) who can work a hybrid schedule—three days per office (Tuesday through Thursday)—are a strong plus. Responsibilities Serve as Compliance Lead and single point of contact for states and accountabilities related to Personal Insurance across products, functions, and business units. Support P&C data calls and regulatory inquiries. Communicate effectively with business clients, including senior leaders. Manage strategic initiatives and compliance issues; identify potential regulatory issues in business initiatives; offer thoughtful, creative solutions appropriate for the level of risk. Direct and manage regulatory matters to build confidence within the regulatory community and protect The Hartford. Develop and execute compliance audit programs to proactively identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies for ensuring future compliance. Analyze regulatory requirements; provide business clients with practical and actionable advice. Demonstrate well‑developed communication skills and sound, independent judgment. Qualifications 4‑year college degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of five+ years working in an insurance regulatory environment and/or with Personal insurance products. Strong research and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build effective working relationships with internal colleagues, business clients, and others at all levels. Experience working with senior level clients and/or business leaders preferred. Collaborative team player. Self‑motivated, resourceful, and capable of independent decision‑making. Able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy working across a breadth of subject matter, intellectually curious. Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple urgent competing priorities. Willingness to embrace innovative tools and identify solutions to complex insurance or business needs. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is $104,000–$156,000. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
