Position Details Title: RN – Emergency Department Location: Avon Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Avon Facility Job Code: F24015 Shift: Variable Schedule, 12:00 AM – 11:30 PM (holiday and weekend requirements) Job Summary Work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital. Provide comprehensive emergency care to adult and child patients 24/7 for 365 days a year. The role involves delivering exceptional care, interacting with patients and families, offering education, and ensuring safety and well‑being of caregivers. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing education and clinical study. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year of hire. Minimum of two years recent related nursing experience (external applicants); under two years for internal applicants, subject to a 90‑day probationary period and Chief Nursing Officer review. Military RN experience is considered. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements Full range of motion, ability to lift patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination. Stand and walk for extended periods. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium work – exerting 20 to 50 pounds force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds force frequently, or >10 pounds force constantly to move objects. Greater than light work demands.
