Histotech Assistant - Histology

Role Histotech Assistant in the Histology Laboratory, contributing to patient diagnosis and care by performing various Histopathology procedures including tissue embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation. Responsibilities Retrieving, verifying, tracking, and accessioning patient samples Processing tissues Maintaining equipment Performing staining and coverslipping Managing case assembly, distribution, and disposal of hazardous chemicals Troubleshooting Reagent preparation Record keeping Handling outside materials Managing lab information systems Qualifications Associate's degree or high school diploma/GED with 2 years relevant experience. Preferred skills include medical terminology, laboratory or leadership experience, and strong communication and organizational abilities. Additional Info Limited tenure position for up to 3 years, with potential reduction to 0.5 FTE if enrolled in the Histology Technician Program. No visa sponsorship or F-1 STEM OPT participation.
