Location: U.S. 191 & Hospital Drive, Chinle, AZ 86503

Duration: 3 months contract with seven 3 month option periods

Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with a 30-minute lunch; weekends and holidays required; shift preferences not guaranteed.

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks

License: Current, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory, valid throughout the contract.

Certifications:

• BLS American Heart Association
• ACLS American Heart Association

Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by a legally designated State accrediting agency

Experience Needed: Minimum 36 months of nursing experience overall, including at least 24 months in adult medical-surgical/specialty nursing.

Special Skills Needed:

• Moderate computer proficiency, including use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Strong communication skills in English (read, write, speak)
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to American Indian/Alaska Native (Navajo) traditions and practices
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary health care team

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive adult medical-surgical nursing care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and perform clinical procedures including IVs, phlebotomy, EKGs, labs, infusions, and respiratory treatments.
• Respond to emergencies, assist with patient transports, and maintain accurate EHR documentation.
• Coordinate patient assignments and care teams, mentor staff, and manage controlled-substance records.
• Provide patient/staff education and ensure compliance with facility, TJC, OSHA, CMS, IHS, and HIPAA standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities.
