RN Inpatient (ACU) Chinle, AZ

Location: I npatient Medical-Surgical Adult Care Unit (ACU) department

Shift:

• Work shifts following unit s tour hours of 12.0 with 30-minute lunches.

• Shifts totaling 7 Shifts/2-week period but not 7 in a row, may work weekends, holidays, rotating day and night shifts, as scheduled by the SN based on the unit s needs for coverage.

Contract Length: 3 - 6 Months with option to extend

Weekly Stipends: $,246

• Health and Welfare: $/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week)

• PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service

Job Description:

The Nurse shall perform nursing duties and manage patient s needs as described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), identified by the Service Unit and as

directed by the Department Supervisory Nurse or designee. The Nurse shall work in partnership with CSU nursing staff in developing and evaluating Standards of

Care through a multi-disciplinary Quality Improvement program that involves participating and contributing to administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

• Provide full range of adult medical-surgical care to patients admitted to Adult Care Unit (ACU).

• Exercise knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice in order to provide individualized, goal-oriented nursing care to the adult patient(s).

• Exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices and techniques in order to plan and provide quality nursing care which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Indian patient.

• Exercise knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness in order to recognize Complications and implement appropriate therapeutic intervention required.

• Exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages in order to recognize their desired effects, side-effects, and complications of their use. Follow DEA and facility policies for secure storage, witnessing, wasting, and documentation of controlled substance.

• Analyze the results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by applicant.

• 36 Months of nursing experience, with a minimum of twenty-four months (24) in the specialty required by the contract. Proven experience and knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

• Valid, unrestricted Nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.

• Certifications (American Heart Association).
