Instrument OperatorWe are currently seeking an experienced Instrument Operator to join Control Point Associates on a long-term project with a government agency supporting NY and NJ reporting to Newark, NJ daily. Take the first step towards the rest of your life in a supportive environment that promotes hard work and dedication!Regular Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pmOvernight Hours: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am (Time & a half)Essential Functions:Perform all phases of surveying field work including Boundary & Topographical Surveys, Construction Layout, As-Built surveys while utilizing Leica or Trimble Total Stations with Data CollectorsComplete field calculations and sketches and downloading and compiling the dataMaintain and take great care of all survey field equipmentAlways maintain quality controlAbility to work overnight projects when necessary (10 pm to 6:30 am). Longer stretches of night shifts may be required. Regular hours are 6 am to 2:30 pm. All hours worked on overnight shift are paid at time and a halfGet OSHA 10/40 Certification; TWIC and SWAC – this is a requirement for the government agency.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :Flexible availability to accommodate overnight projectsAbove average math skills and you should know your way around a computer3 years' experience performing boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, construction stakeout, experienced using robotic total stations, Leica ScannersWilling to travel, work in all weather conditionsA can-do attitude and desire to work overtimeWe're Even More Excited if You Have :Associate's degree or higherOSHA 10 or 40 CertifiedTWIC or SWAC CertifiedFamiliarity with AutoCADOperation of Leica P40 Scan Station preferredPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for 8+ hours a day. Exposure to all weather conditions: hot, cold, wet, humid, or other conditions caused by weather. The Instrument Operator will work in the field with the survey crew. Field work is often performed on busy streets or construction sites. Loud noise may be experienced at times.
