Accountabilities:

The Senior Budget Analyst will support financial strategy, budget development, and operational planning by providing accurate analysis and recommendations that guide organizational decisions. The role requires strong fiscal expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

• Perform advanced budget analysis, monitoring, forecasting, and administration activities to support program and organizational goals.
• Develop, maintain, and adjust expenditure and revenue models to evaluate financial performance and future needs.
• Analyze fiscal impacts of proposed policies, legislative changes, and strategic initiatives to support informed decision-making.
• Provide financial recommendations and insights to leadership, program teams, and external stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed budget reports, financial documentation, and presentations for executive leaders and governmental partners.
• Lead and coordinate complex projects involving multiple programs, timelines, and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and investigate financial data inconsistencies or reporting issues.
• Support the development and implementation of policies by providing evidence-based financial analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align budgets with long-term objectives and organizational priorities.
• Manage multiple priorities independently while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial materials.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, project management skills, and the ability to communicate financial concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Six years of progressively responsible experience preparing, analyzing, and administering budgets or fiscal systems, including financial modeling and forecasting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, public administration, public policy, or a related analytical field may substitute for part of the required experience; graduate-level education may also qualify as a substitute.
• Advanced knowledge of budget development, monitoring, adjustment processes, and multi-program financial planning.
• Strong experience analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and evaluating cost impacts.
• Ability to work with large datasets and advanced analytical tools to support financial decision-making.
• Experience investigating and resolving financial data discrepancies and anomalies.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to evaluate policy proposals and translate financial impacts into clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting financial information to leadership and external audiences.
• Strong organizational skills, independent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
