Position Overview

This position requires a dedicated professional to provide direct care to patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. The staff nurse utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to meet the physical, psychosocial, safety, rehabilitative, and learning needs of patients and their families. The role involves collaboration with nursing peers, co-workers, attending physicians, and allied support services.

Shift Details

Shift: 3 x 12-Hour Nights (19:00 - 07:30) with weekend rotation required

Requirements

Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
NIHSS certification
Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
Experience with patient ratios of 2:1
Proficient with charting system, specifically Epic
Travel experience required

Key Responsibilities

Managing care for assigned patients
Directing the activities of ancillary staff
Administering emergency medications and blood products
Performing various procedures, including central line care and ventilator management
Monitoring and interpreting vital signs and laboratory results
Assisting with the management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Desired Skills

Accessing and managing ports
Arterial line management
Chest tube insertion and removal assistance
BiPAP/CPAP management
Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Starting and maintaining IVs
Procedural sedation administration and monitoring

Compliance and Documentation

Candidates must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing and provide a 7-year work history for verification. All compliance documentation must be submitted at least 10 days prior to the start date.
