Medical Office Specialist

Job Summary and Qualifications Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays. Responsibilities Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet and communicate with patients and providers. Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments. Check in patients and properly document registration. Verify insurance and patient demographics. File and retrieve medical records/files. Copy and fax duties. Collect co-pays and cash from patients, get authorization on credit cards. Enter charges, payments, and balance the day on the computer. Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications 1 to 3 years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Experience using an EHR system is highly preferred.
