Job Title: Network Engineer II Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% (Local) Opportunity CASI is looking for a Network Engineer to provide support for LAN/WAN by developing network support processes, procedures and guidelines for troubleshooting network events and performing sustaining tasks. This role will design and maintain network environments to comply with relevant compliance standards and evaluate, consult and make technology recommendations to senior management. It requires experience in complex telecommunications applications involving all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis. Responsibilities include research, requirements analysis, design, installation, troubleshooting, and support of local‐ and wide‐area network hardware, software and applications. Experience with large‑scale enterprise/global networks in high‑paced diverse environments is required. Responsibilities Maintain a thorough knowledge of existing network and/or security hardware and software in use to provide third‑tier technical and administrative support and provide complex internal analysis and support of the network and/or security infrastructure. Act as the technical interface with vendors and other external stakeholders and review/make recommendations on network and/or security service/maintenance arrangements. Review technical documentation of supported environments to ensure that documentation is accurate and up to date. Provide O&S of LAN/WAN services on an expanded 24x7 on‑site service support level and expanded 12x5 service support level during core hours, and on‑call support with a two‑hour response time during non‑core hours. Provide manhole maintenance and repairs services for outside plant cabling on a standard 8x5 service support level for communications. Install and configure WAN and LAN hardware to include voice, video, and data cable systems; develop system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation. Develop risk management and mitigation strategy; maintain compliance with QA standards while ensuring service performance indicators are met or exceeded. Work individually and also actively participate on integrated teams to support the customer’s deployable networks supporting multiple mission partners at multiple locations (CONUS/OCONUS). Require minimal guidance from senior level technicians, specialists, and managers; provide guidance to lower‑level technicians and specialists. Understand and apply more advanced concepts and processes to daily activities; assist more senior level technicians, specialists, and managers in their activities; perform all tasks of lower‑level technicians or specialists. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites to support customer deployments, installations and maintenance activities. Develop, configure and maintain the customer’s deployable communications suites. Qualifications Active TS/SCI security clearance. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Network Engineer. DoD 8140.01 and 8570.01‑M, IATII required. Analyze designs, develop, and/or maintain both hardware and software needed for network communications including LANs, WANs, the internet, intranets, and other data communication systems. Possess experience with most common network components to include routers, switches, firewalls, protocols, VoIP, DNS, remote access, VPN, routing, and switching; knowledge of TCP/IP routing technologies including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, with applicable business line knowledge. Communicate complex concepts and data effectively and creatively (both written and oral) across multiple organizations, both internal and external, and with executive company and customer management. Perform design, engineering, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of local area networks (LANs) and/or wide area networks (WANs).
