Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN with at least 2 years of experience and ACLS/BLS certifications for a day shift position requiring on-call availability.

Details

• Work in a Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 21-28 days within a 6 week cycle based on department needs
• Epic EMR experience required for consideration

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/EP nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in cardiac catheterization procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, and left/right heart catheterization
• Experience with electrophysiology procedures such as pacemaker insertion, cardioversion, and baseline measurements
• Proficient in vascular closure systems, sheath removal/monitoring, and topical hemostasis
• Experience administering and monitoring procedural sedation, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and IV vasopressors
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with central line insertion/management, PICC lines, and implanted ports care and maintenance

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Circulate and scrub for cardiac cath lab and EP procedures as needed
• Monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation and manage emergency medications when required
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions using appropriate PPE
• Utilize radiation and laser safety protocols during laser-assisted procedures
