Haas CNC Service Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Haas CNC Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and service Haas CNC machine tools at customer facilities and/or within our service operation. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and CNC troubleshooting skills, along with excellent customer-service and communication abilities.

This position requires a hands-on technician who can diagnose equipment problems efficiently, minimize customer downtime, and provide professional technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and troubleshoot Haas CNC mills, lathes, and related machine-tool equipment .
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, coolant, and control-system issues.
• Troubleshoot CNC controls, servo systems, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors, switches, and I/O.
• Perform machine alignments, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and machine inspections.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and CNC documentation.
• Identify machine faults and determine the root cause of equipment failures.
• Replace and repair machine components, including motors, drives, pumps, sensors, valves, switches, belts, bearings, and other assemblies.
• Perform CNC control diagnostics, parameter checks, software updates, and backup/restore procedures as appropriate.
• Assist customers with machine operation, maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
• Provide clear explanations of technical issues and recommended repairs to customers.
• Document service calls, parts used, repairs performed, machine conditions, and recommendations.
• Communicate with customers, service management, parts departments, and other technicians regarding machine-service requirements.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintain company-issued tools, test equipment, vehicles, and safety equipment.
• Follow all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Travel to customer locations as required, sometimes on short notice.
• Participate in on-call or emergency service rotations when required.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience servicing, repairing, installing, or maintaining CNC machine tools or comparable industrial equipment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience working with CNC controls and servo-driven machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, relays, and industrial control circuits.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and coolant systems.
• Ability to use electrical test equipment such as multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience servicing Haas CNC machines .
• Haas CNC control and machine diagnostic experience.
• CNC machine installation and commissioning experience.
• Experience with servo drives, spindle drives, encoders, and CNC I/O.
• Experience performing CNC machine geometry checks and alignment.
• Experience with machine-tool electrical systems and control cabinets.
• Formal training or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechatronics, machining, or a related field.
• Experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with networking and communications used in modern CNC equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in and around industrial machinery for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move tools, equipment, and machine components as required.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environments that may involve noise, metal chips, coolant, oils, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to safely work around energized electrical equipment and industrial machinery while following proper safety procedures.

Work Environment

This position involves a combination of field service and shop-based work. The technician will regularly work at customer manufacturing facilities and machine shops and should be comfortable working around CNC equipment, industrial electrical systems, moving machinery, metalworking fluids, and other manufacturing hazards.

This is a Mon-Friday and Saturdays as required position.
