Quality Coordinator - Packaging  

Job Summary:  
The Quality Coordinator supports day-to-day Quality activities within Tennant Solutions' production, receiving, and outbound operations by providing routine floor-level quality oversight, reviewing production documentation, performing quality spot-checks, and assisting with the identification and documentation of quality issues. This role works closely with Operations and other Quality personnel to promote compliance with established procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), customer requirements, and applicable quality standards. The Quality Coordinator serves as a readily accessible Quality resource for operational questions and concerns while appropriately escalating issues requiring further evaluation, investigation, or disposition. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Assembly / Production Quality 

• Review completed table build sheets to verify production activities and required documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with established procedures and applicable requirements, including verification that required line-clearance activities have been performed and documented. Verify completed table build sheets are properly uploaded and retained in the designated system in a timely manner.  

• Maintain a routine Quality presence within production areas by performing random spot-checks and observing assembly, labeling, packaging, line-clearance, and other production activities for compliance with approved procedures, GMP, and GDP requirements.  

• Review first-article builds against applicable specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements; document results and promptly communicate identified discrepancies.  

• Review and maintain scrap records to verify quantities and associated reasons have been appropriately documented by Operations, follow up on missing or incomplete information, and identify and document nonconformances observed during production activities to support accurate quality records and identification of recurring issues.  

• Communicate and escalate identified quality or compliance concerns to appropriate Quality and Operational personnel and coordinate with Operational leadership to pause or stop production activities when significant concerns are identified and continued processing could result in additional nonconforming product.  

Receiving / Incoming / Outbound Quality 

• Provide Quality support to Receiving personnel when questions, discrepancies, or potential quality issues arise during incoming inspection activities, and escalate concerns to appropriate Quality personnel when additional evaluation or disposition is required.  

• Perform routine and random spot-checks of receiving activities, and associated records to verify inspections are being performed in accordance with established requirements and that required documentation is complete, accurate, properly saved, and readily retrievable.  

• Perform outbound QC inspections in accordance with Tennant and client requirements, as applicable. 

• Assist Receiving, Operations, and appropriate Quality personnel with supplier-related quality issues, including documenting issue details, identifying potentially affected scope, supporting segregation, and tagging of affected material, and gathering photographs, lot information, quantities, records, or other objective evidence as needed.  

General Quality Support 

• Assist Quality personnel with Quality Events, Non-conformance investigations, CAPAs, complaints, audits, and other quality activities by gathering information and records, documenting observations, identifying potentially affected product or material, and completing assigned follow-up activities.  

• Maintain accurate and complete Quality records in accordance with applicable procedures and GDP requirements and support quality data collection, trending, and continuous improvement activities as assigned. 

• Support Kitting as needed based on business needs, while maintaining primary responsibility for assigned Packaging activities. 

Qualifications :   

Required : 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements. 

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify documentation, process, and product discrepancies. 

• Ability to accurately complete, review, and maintain quality and production records. 

• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Operations and Quality personnel. 

• Ability to appropriately communicate and escalate quality concerns, including situations in which production activities may need to be paused. 

• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a production-oriented environment. 

• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic systems used for quality records, document storage, and data entry. 

Preferred:  

• Previous experience in a quality, manufacturing, assembly, kitting, packaging, receiving, warehouse, or similarly regulated operational environment. 

• Experience performing inspections, reviewing production documentation, or identifying and documenting nonconforming material or product. 

• Familiarity with GMP and GDP requirements. 

• Experience working within an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, medical device, pharmaceutical, clinical, or other regulated quality environment. 

Job Setting / Environment: 

• The role requires regular presence in production and receiving areas to observe processes, perform spot-checks, review documentation, and provide Quality support to Operational personnel. 

• The position may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, and computer usage, as well as the ability to move between production, receiving, warehouse, and office areas throughout the workday. 

• Work will be performed in both temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled areas. 

• Location: On-site
