Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse

The Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse provides specialized wound care and ostomy management, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through personalized assessments and interventions. They collaborate closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive, ethical, and culturally sensitive care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient wounds and ostomies to develop individualized care plans.
• Implement appropriate wound and ostomy treatments based on best practices and physician directives.
• Educate patients and their families on wound care, ostomy management, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes.
• Document patient progress and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate ethical decision-making and respect for diverse cultural, spiritual, and personal values.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid NYS RN License and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience, preferably in wound care.
• Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Certification in Wound and Ostomy Care is preferred.
• BLS certification required; Master's Degree in Nursing is a plus.
