Senior Statutory Investment Accounting Lead (Remote)

We have partnered with our client in their search for an Interim Statutory Investment Accounting Senior Consultant to support oversight and review of U.S. statutory close and reporting activities within a complex life & annuity insurance environment. This role will operate in a senior-level review and governance capacity, focusing on ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuity of statutory reporting and investment accounting processes. The position is well-suited for a highly technical professional who can step into a fast-paced environment and provide immediate oversight. This is a remote W2 hourly interim opportunity through Korn Ferry working directly for the client. Responsibilities Oversee and review U.S. statutory close processes across multiple insurance entities Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and statutory schedules for completeness and accuracy Support accounting and reporting for complex investment portfolios, including derivatives and separate accounts Review derivative accounting and Schedule DB reporting activities Provide oversight of accounting related to reinsurance arrangements and complex structural considerations Evaluate accounting policy changes and their impact on statutory reporting processes Support ongoing initiatives impacting investment accounting and reporting Operate in a senior review capacity, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables Partner with accounting and investment teams to maintain continuity during a key coverage period Skills Required Deep U.S. statutory (STAT) accounting experience within insurance Experience overseeing and reviewing statutory close and reporting processes Knowledge of derivative accounting and Schedule DB reporting Experience supporting complex investment portfolios and statutory reporting Strong review and oversight capabilities, with a governance-focused mindset Education & Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required U.S. statutory (STAT) accounting experience within insurance Strong investment accounting background, preferably within life & annuity Title: Statutory Investment Accounting Senior Consultant Location: Remote Client Industry: Insurance, Life & Annuity Compensation: $90/hr. - $100/hr.
