Zuni Pueblo is the largest of the nineteen New Mexican Pueblos, covering more than 700 square miles and has a population of over 10,000 inhabitants. Additionally, they are considered the most traditional of all the New Mexico Pueblos with a unique language, culture and history which is due in part to its geographic isolation. The people and their families who have endured throughout the years here have shown their resiliency and endurance to be as strong as their building material; centuries of creating homes and buildings with adobe, sandstone, wood, cement, glass and even steel are a part of Zuni Pueblo's legacy which stand strong to this day. An impressive feat, considering this was the initial location of "first contact" between Europeans and the Native People in the Southwest in 1540, with the arrival of Francisco Vazques de Coronado, 16th-century Spanish explorer. The Facility The Zuni Service Unit Client Route 301 North 21 B Avenue, Zuni, NM 87327 The Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center serves the Zuni, Ramah and McKinley area of New Mexico. It provides a wide variety of inpatient, outpatient and community health services which recognizes the need of attention and care to the health and wellness of the people surrounding it. General Medical Services include: Emergency Room Services (24/7), Inpatient General Medical Service (adult and pediatric), Obstetrics Labor and Delivery Outpatient Services, Optometry, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, Radiology Services, Mental Health, Tele-Renal Case Management Anti-Coagulation Clinic as well as Preventative Health Services such as Well Baby Clinic, Women's Health, Dental Health, Public Health Nursing, Palliative Care, Immunizations, Podiatry, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, Integrated Medicine and Acupuncture.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Patient screening.
• Collecting COVID specimen and supporting COVID vaccine clinics.
• Support efforts to identify and isolate COVID patients.
• Participate in case identification and treatment of communicable disease and participate in surveillance for community health trends and status.
• Public health education including providing health education to individuals, families and community groups in various settings.
• Provide direct patient care services at the Client Emergency Department, Inpatient/Outpatient Department, Car Clinics, Public Health Nursing Program field, rural patient residence/homes, community vaccination clinics in rural communities, and/or other Client Healthcare Service locations.

Qualifications

• Experience and current RN License.
• Must be available to provide nurse services in rural communities via home visits, host community vaccination clinics and travel to provide services in rural and remote communities.
• Experience in Public Health/Community Health nursing.
• Capable of providing onsite support.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric, and/or Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications.
• Experience in Behavioral Health/Substance Abuse.
