The Material Handler position includes three possible roles within the team - Picker, Packer/Processor, and Receiver.

These positions have responsibility for receiving finished good product in, picking, packing, and processing sales orders, cycle counting and inventory accuracy, material movement, and rack location organization in accordance with established processes and procedures.

All Material Handlers must become certified forklift operators. This position will be located 100% on-site in Maryland Heights, MO.

The hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. CDT.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Receiver:Receive incoming material into the warehouse utilizing the ERP systemLocate all incoming material to appropriate storage spaceConsolidate like product during the put away and inventory movement processEnsure quality for items received – correct PO, items, counts, and locationsAbility to learn and understand the products associated with all Product LinesAdditional responsibilities as requested or required by managementPicker:Pick outgoing orders for customers using the ERP systemOrganize the picking process so that multiple orders may be picked at one timeEnsure quality for orders picked – correct items, counts, and locationsMeet daily goals and ensure all work is completedAbility to learn and understand the products associated with all Product LinesAdditional responsibilities as requested or required by management.Packer/Processor:Quality check picked ordersPack items for safe delivery to customers following all departmental processesProcess orders for shipment in the ERP system and through the logistic shipping programEnsure quality for orders packed and processed – appropriate packaging and correct addressAbility to learn and understand the products associated with all Product LinesAdditional responsibilities as requested or required by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.COMPETENCIES:Is consistently at work and on timeFollows instructions, responds to management directionMust be proficient in basic forklift operationMust possess a strong attention to detailMust possess basic math skillsPrioritizes and plans work activitiesUses time efficientlyMeets productivity standardsCompletes work in timely mannerObserves safety and security proceduresReports potentially unsafe conditionsUses equipment and materials properly LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 3 years of shipping and receiving experience in warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:Forklift operation / safety certificationCOMPUTER SKILLS:Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.

Proficiency in ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics AX12 is preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee may frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift.

Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.
