Project ManagerMcGough is rapidly growing and improving its self-perform concrete capabilities expanding market share in the Upper Midwest, and building a repeatable business system to implement in new markets as McGough progresses its national growth strategy. Resulting from this growth, McGough's Concrete Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the organization to lead projects to successful outcomes.Qualifications:Required:Four-year degree in Construction Management or related degree5+ years of related experience, specifically including concrete self-perform projectsDemonstrated experience building strong partnerships and trust with external partners, including owner's representatives, design firms, and subcontractorsPreferred:Experience with estimating and fieldExperience with schedulingSkills:Strong collaboration and communication skillsThorough and detail-orientedAbility to prioritize and multi-task within time constraintsSelf-starter with the ability to take initiative and motivated with minimal supervisionAbility to organize and prioritize responsibilitiesStrong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationProficiency in Microsoft applications, especially with ExcelAbility to function as an integral team member, working under time constraints and meeting deadlines in a changing environmentEmbodies personal integrity and keeps confidencesView every interaction as an opportunity to add value and enhance relationshipsOffice and travel:Various jobsites, corporate & regional offices. In addition to regional meetings, overnight travel may be involved.Core responsibilities:Pursuit, Preconstruction and Business Development:Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirementsResearch prospective clientsAssist pursuit team in completing responses to RFQs and RFPsParticipate in pursuit interviewsAssist with and participate in preconstruction meetingsProvide management and leadership to ensure successful completion of our QA/QC page turn processUnderstand project-specific workforce and vendor participation goals and incorporate into project work planMcGough Self-Performed Work:Understand and perform quantity take-offs and assist in estimating labor production, materials and equipmentUnderstand warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools, services and costsGather information or assist with labor and project forecast preparation and reporting, including production tracking.Scope bid materials (concrete, rebar, brick, etc.)Assist with creating Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for our workEstimating & Bidding Management:Review estimates prepared by project managers and estimatingLead estimate presentation to owner/design teamReview proposed subcontractors prior to presenting to ownerFinal review/sign subcontractorsScheduling:Assist field staff with creating CPM schedulingWork closely with field staff to update and distribute schedule as neededCo-lead Last Planner efforts in conjunction with field staffProject Documentation:Review and understand all drawings and specificationsLead the project document page turn reviewsManage the Request for Information (RFI) process and work with the design team to get timely responsesManage the shop drawings/submittals review process and work with the design team to get a timely turnaroundParticipate in BIM coordination meetingsManage project sustainability requirements and documentationUnderstand the requirements of our owner's contracts, as well as subcontractsSubcontract Management:Maintain a thorough understanding of what is included in the subcontractor's scopeReview and process subcontractor change requests; negotiate pricingReview and approve subcontractor invoicesAssist superintendent with manpower and personnel requestsSchedule and document pre-installation meetingsProject Meetings:Attend all project and company safety meetingsAttend and participate in weekly work plan meetingsConduct and provide timely documentation for construction coordination meetingsParticipate in start-up meetings and prepare documentation in conjunction with field staffProvide monthly project forecast reportsAttend pre-installation meetings and mock-up reviewsPost Construction:Perform pre-punch with an aim at providing a "zero item" punchlistOversee the punchlist processSupport the close-out team in gathering final as-built plans and documentationReview project close-out documentation for accuracy and completenessOther Duties:Actively contribute as a member of the team, collaborating to support shared goals and objectivesEngage in business development by building and fostering relationships with clients, design teams, consultants, and subcontractors, and participating in industry and McGough-sponsored events. Pursue new relationships with potential clients and design firms. This may include client functions, design firm open houses and conferences.Represent McGough professionally at all events, upholding company standards and serving as a positive ambassadorAttend company and project meetings, pursuing ongoing personal and professional development to enhance skills and performance. Actively participating in company-sponsored events.Collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders to ensure cohesive project execution and may perform functions of PE or Asst PM, as necessary for the projectActively support and participate in Lean events and standard of work, promoting the McGough Way and fostering a culture of continuous improvementPerform additional duties as assigned to support team and project successOther duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to lift up to 20 pounds as needed, demonstrate dexterity to write and use a computer keyboard and mouse, and possess the ability to hear, speak clearly, and distinguish colors on graphs and charts.The role also requires occasional visits to construction sites, where the employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
