Job Summary:
Highly successful plaintiff's elder abuse firm has immediate opening for an Attorney with at least five (5) years’ experience in personal injury or medical malpractice/elder neglect to join our team.
Job Description:
- Attorney must be able to handle a case load of 15-20 personal injury/elder abuse cases from case intake through trial.
- Draft pleadings (opps to demurrer and motion to strike, opps to motion to compel arbitration, opps to motion for summary judgment, motion to compel discovery and depositions)
- Propound and respond to written discovery.
- Take depositions of fact witnesses, nurses, doctors, and experts. Ideal candidate has taken at least 50 depositions.
- Make court appearances.
- Have experience with trial preparation (i.e., motions in limine, preparing jury instructions, exhibit lists, witness lists, statement of case, special verdict forms).
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years litigation experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, or elder abuse
- Taken at least 50 depositions
- Strong experience with motion practice, discovery dispute, meet and confer letters
- Superior analytical and legal research skills
- Working knowledge and experience with California civil law & procedure
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional time management skills
Required Education:
- Must be admitted to the California State Bar Association in good standing
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
