Job Summary Under the general direction of the Manager of Supply Chain Management, the Sr. Buyer/Planner will purchase aviation supplies, materials and services to ensure company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery lead times to ensure continuity of supply. The role provides leadership to a team of aviation buyers and oversees key strategic projects, analyzing, establishing, negotiating and tracking contracts, placing buys and managing suppliers. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with aviation and non‑aviation stakeholders. Use ERP data to determine material requirements and actions to meet those requirements, including new equipment buys, exchange orders, load orders and repair orders. Prioritize orders and shipments to satisfy operational needs (Normal, Expedite, Aircraft‑on‑Ground). Support inventory counts, reconciliation, investigation and surveys. Manage consignment programs with OEMs. Communicate with Manager on items that may impact operational performance. Ensure purchased parts have appropriate regulatory (FAA) documentation. Manage supplier performance, incorporating corrective action when required. Handle invoice management related to procurement discrepancies or supplier issues. Meet contractual obligations with major supplier accounts and lead performance reviews. Manage all supplier claims for warranty and/or non‑performance. Accountable for ensuring corporate Safety Management System activities are applied by staff personnel within PHI. Promote PHI’s Destination Zero initiative. Other duties or special projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering preferred. 5+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years of experience in lieu of education. Minimum eight years of experience in Supply Chain capacity. Proven track record managing a purchasing portfolio in a global, multi‑functional environment. Strong aviation knowledge required; helicopter experience preferred. Planning, negotiation, and contract management experience. Solid knowledge of business and economic issues, cost structures and contracts. Deep understanding of industry cost drivers, market dynamics and competitive landscape. Strong analytical, communication and conflict‑management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight timelines and targeted savings outcomes. Proficiency with program management tools and techniques. Collaboration and teamwork; respects diversity and improves relationships. Service orientation and accountability for high standards of service delivery.
