The Role: Accounting Clerk Established Construction Company in Alameda is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for the full-cycle Accounts Receivable process, which includes, but is not limited to: drafting monthly construction project invoices, A/R aging, reaching out to clients for payment collection, monitoring deadlines and billing cycles, submitting monthly invoices, etc. They are also responsible for the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, which includes, but is not limited to: entering payables into the system, reconciling vendor statements, resolving vendor issues, match/code/sort/log/scan/file invoices, checks and other documents, etc. The Accounting Clerk is also responsible for Prevailing Wage compliance, maintaining certified payroll reports, and occasionally assists with payroll procedures. They must thrive in a team environment and exercise discretion and confidentiality. They prioritize attention to detail, multi-tasking, and deadlines. The Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented, analytical, organized Able to multi-task and meet deadlines Professional discretion with private client and employee information Proficient with MS Office Suite Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet Bachelor's degree or higher (finance or accounting) or equivalent experience 3-5 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, payroll, GL, job cost, tax and compliance reporting, month-end close, account reconciliation, etc.) Experience with Sage Timberline 300 (preferred) Experience with construction industry laws: Preliminary notices, Mechanics' Lien, Lien releases, etc. (preferred) Certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting experience (preferred) About Saarman Construction Ltd.
