Payroll Specialist

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $95,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Process full cycle payroll activities while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain payroll records, review employee data changes, and verify wage, deduction, and tax information.
• Reconcile payroll reports, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll related issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare payroll reports and support year end processing, audits, and compliance related activities.
• Provide payroll support to employees and management while ensuring a high level of customer service and confidentiality.

Requirements

• 3+ years of payroll experience with responsibility for end to end payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of union payroll administration, prevailing wage requirements, and payroll compliance regulations.
• Previous experience managing high volume payroll activities while meeting strict processing deadlines.
• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.
• Ability to interpret payroll regulations, employee agreements, and payroll related documentation.

Qualifications

• Construction, contracting, or project based industry payroll experience.
• Prior experience with certified payroll reporting, union benefit calculations, and multi union payroll environments.
• Payroll certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self motivated professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with complex payroll requirements.
