Description:
Minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
Candidates must have strong neuro skills.
Every other weekend work is required.
Candidates are expected to float to ICU, TCU/PCU, and other hospital care areas as needed.
Ability to care for patients in the emergency department is also necessary.
Candidates must possess a current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification.
Experience with ventilated patients and acute stroke management is essential.
Candidates should have experience with external ventricular drains and ICP monitoring.
This role involves the management of traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury patients.
Ongoing assessments of patients will include frequent neuro checks and neurovascular checks.
Candidates will be responsible for interpreting arterial blood gases.
This position requires participation in rapid response teams.
Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services, is expected.
The work environment involves using EPIC for charting.
Patients may present with a range of diagnoses including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, and hydrocephalus.
Candidates should have knowledge of hypothermia protocols and continuous EEG monitoring.
This position does not allow for medical or religious exemptions regarding COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
Fit testing for respiratory protection is mandatory before employment.
Failure to meet fit testing requirements will result in cancellation of employment offer.
All clinicians are subject to a policy regarding maximum travel work duration and break periods between travel assignments.
Modules for orientation and training are not billable and must be completed prior to starting.
