EDI Developer

Job Summary Mass General Brigham Health Plan Holding Company, Inc. (MGBHP) is seeking an experienced EDI Developer who will design, develop, and maintain EDI solutions for HIPAA EDI transactions (270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999). The role requires a good understanding of HIPAA EDI Implementations and Companion guides used across the Health Care industry. The candidate must have software development experience and be able to follow design principles and coding/best practices. Experience with Visual Studio, C#.NET, Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2, T‑SQL, SSIS, and BizTalk Server is essential. Primary Responsibilities Write T‑SQL in SQL Server and develop SSIS packages to support vendor interfaces. Analyze business and system requirements, perform impact analysis, and develop system specifications. Design, prepare, and execute unit test plans for application upgrades and enhancements in partnership with business units. Map ANSI HIPAA EDI files and develop, test, and deploy EDI applications. Perform system analysis to become a subject‑matter expert and support business units. Work with hosted vendors to accomplish SDLC objectives. Provide data analysis support across NHP business areas for reporting and application development needs. Track and monitor problem tickets to ensure timely resolution. Communicate status, identify and resolve problems related to business processes and applications. Coordinate change and revision management to ensure interoperability of systems. Anticipate and meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations. Assist in requirements gathering with end users and translate requirements into specifications. Participate in change management, disaster recovery, and production support operations. Coordinate technical support and software upgrades with in‑house staff and outside vendors. Qualifications Three to five years of application development, support, and maintenance experience in a dynamic Microsoft environment; healthcare systems experience preferred. Understanding of data dependencies between applications and systems. Experience with QNXT and CCA or other integrated health‑care systems (ASP.NET, C#, SharePoint). Experience with SSIS packages, ANSI X12, XML, HL7 formatted EDI transactions. Experience with development and support of intra‑application data exchanges. Demonstrated ability to develop customized solutions to meet business requirements. Strong analytical, programming, and project management skills. Accountable for delivering high‑quality work and maintaining equitable workplace practices. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field of study. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Core programming principles and design. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, SQL). Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and time‑management skills. Strong project management and communication skills.
