Key Responsibilities of the Medical Laboratory Technician

Perform laboratory tests and analyses to obtain information for patient diagnosis and treatment
Maintain and operate laboratory equipment
Ensure the accuracy of test results by following quality control procedures
Prepare specimens for testing and assist in the handling of samples
Document results and report findings to the appropriate medical personnel

Requirements of the Medical Laboratory Technician

Valid Medical Laboratory Technician license
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred
