The Opportunity

You've worked in this industry. Maybe you're behind the counter right now, maybe you've done brand rep work. You notice things: what makes a post worth stopping for, what makes someone actually walk up to a booth instead of past it, what a regular customer really cares about versus what corporate assumes they care about.

Quality Roots runs 9 locations across Michigan, and we're building out marketing from the ground up: in stores, online, and out in the communities we serve. We need someone who already lives in this world to be the ground-level connection between our brand and the people who actually shop with us, on camera and in person. There's no fixed ladder yet. You'd be one of the first people shaping what this role becomes.

What You'll Do

Social content , built around real programs, not filler: staff reviews that turn budtender product knowledge into "what are you smokin' on" content people trust, checkout-style videos capturing the actual shopping experience, shelf and restock content that proves the store never goes stale, Stash n Dash (our gift-card scavenger hunt, where you pick the hiding spot, document it, and help run the drop), brand collab coverage and community stunts like buying out a batch from a local spot to give away on camera, and QClub loyalty content, since points are money and every post should answer "what's this worth to me."

Field marketing and events , which is just as central to this role as the content side. You'll work both ends of it.

Street team : shorter, mobile, high-energy outreach with no tent or table, branded gear, in and out, built to drive foot traffic and create hype on short notice.

Sponsored events : full setup at bigger community events like Dally in the Alley or Sounds of the Zoo, branded tent and table, where people can explore products, meet the team, and actually engage with the brand.

At every event, you're the one on the ground doing the real work: building awareness so people recognize Quality Roots as the retailer in this market, creating genuine engagement before any sales pitch, driving the next visit, and bringing back honest feedback on what people are actually saying about our products and stores.

You'll also help grow our presence in the local businesses our customers already trust : getting QR-branded materials into bars, coffee shops, and record stores, tying first-visit offers to QR codes, and turning one-off appearances into standing relationships instead of single-night sponsorships.

Who We're Looking For

Someone who's worked in cannabis retail and knows this industry from being in it, not from a course. You've either already been making content on your own or you're genuinely drawn to learning how. You're comfortable being the face of the brand in person as much as on camera. Event experience helps, since you'll be out at festivals and pop-ups regularly, not just in stores. You use cannabis and know this world, not just the branding around it. You're hardworking and coachable, and you want a career in marketing, not a personal following.

Must be 21+. Able to get to every Michigan location, and to travel for events.

Bonus

Dispensary or brand rep experience in Michigan. Some editing skill (CapCut, Premiere, whatever you use). Existing relationships in the Michigan cannabis scene.
