SMS is currently hiring for a Full-time assistant to work with Lower Elementary students! Your Role as an Elementary Assistant As our Lower Elementary Classroom Assistant, you'll help create a peaceful, engaging learning environment where children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Working alongside an experienced Montessori Guide, you'll support students in their daily discoveries while growing your own skills as an educator. Be professional and mature in appearance and attitude Help children use resources and explore during learning and play activities using the Montessori method of learning Help with homework and after-school care Expectations: Monday-Friday 40 hrs/week Ability to be on your feet Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be active with the children Ability to conduct chores apart from childcare (cleaning, etc.) Willingness to engage with young children and other staff members Requirements: Ages 18 or older High School Diploma CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to be certified Experience with children (preferred) Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) We conduct random drug testing PLEASE NOTE: Employees who are made an offer of employment will be required to pass a post-offer pre-employment background process that includes passing a Basic TB and fingerprint test: and completing an online training program.
