Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 17 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, night shift rotation with flexibility to meet unit needs; minimum every other weekend requirement Highlights: Float across multiple critical care units including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, CVICU, and Cardiology/Diagnostics based on staffing needs and patient acuity Float assignments limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity only EPIC charting system utilized throughout facility Contract must extend through January 2, 2027 Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and radiology Exposure to advanced critical care including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) Requirements: Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records required Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred Skills in arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, vasoactive drip titration, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction Experience with specialized equipment including temporary pacers, external ventricular drains (EVD), continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and pulmonary artery catheters preferred Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 2 professional references required (at least 1 from formal leadership/management) Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers experienced critical care nurses the opportunity to expand their clinical expertise across multiple ICU specialties while working night shifts in a collaborative, academically-oriented environment.
