Position Summary

The Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day financial records that keep Winchester Electric Service operating efficiently.

The primary focus of this position is bookkeeping and accounting support. As our company continues to grow, there will be opportunities for additional responsibilities in accounting, payroll administration, office administration, and business operations based on the employee’s interests, demonstrated abilities, and company needs.

This position reports directly to ownership and works closely with management to ensure accurate financial records and efficient office operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable (vendor invoices and payments)
• Process Accounts Receivable (customer billing and collections)
• Enter daily accounting transactions accurately and timely
• Process customer payments and bank deposits
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Reconcile company credit card statements
• Maintain General Ledger records
• Assist with month-end accounting procedures
• Maintain organized accounting records
• Assist with sales tax reporting
• Reconcile inventory-related accounting transactions
• Review vendor invoices and purchase orders for accuracy
• Support budgeting and financial reporting
• Communicate professionally with customers and vendors regarding billing questions
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys creating order in a busy office environment.

Preferred Experience

• Two or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
• Bank reconciliation experience
• Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Experience using accounting software such as Traverse, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience working in electrical contracting, construction, HVAC, plumbing, generator service, or another field-service business is strongly preferred.

Experience with inventory accounting or job costing is considered a significant advantage.

Compensation

Starting Salary: $45,000–$50,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional compensation opportunities may become available as responsibilities expand.
