Immediate opening for a Staff Accountant (Public Accounting) in Ontario, CA who possesses:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3+ years of Staff Accountant experience, CPA or active pursuit of CPA preferred
• Team player with public accounting experience; agriculture or dairy industry experience is a plus

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join an established public accounting firm in Ontario. This role will provide tax, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse client base while supporting a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will have public accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and an interest in working with clients across industries including dairy, agriculture, small business, and other business sectors.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and nonprofit organizations
• Performing accounting, review, and audit-related procedures
• Managing bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax reporting engagements
• Preparing financial workpapers and supporting schedules
• Identifying and communicating accounting and tax issues to management
• Assisting with meeting engagement budgets and deadlines
• Collaborating with team members to deliver quality client service
• Supporting client accounting, assurance, tax, and advisory projects
• Managing multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Supporting team members during busy tax season, including overtime and Saturdays as needed

The selected candidate will also possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 3+ years of public accounting experience
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA preferred
• Experience with accounting and tax software is a plus
• Exposure to agriculture or dairy industries is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently
• Team-oriented with a commitment to client service
• Professional demeanor and ability to work in a business professional office environment
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime and Saturdays during busy tax season as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and use computer equipment for extended periods
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email
• Ability to review documents, financial reports, and computer screens for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office materials as needed

Salary Range: $38 to $60/hour
