Nursing Scheduler & Staffing Coordinator | Long-Term Care

The Avenue at Brooklyn: Progressive Quality Care is growing again with another brand-new, beautiful, hotel-like skilled nursing facility located in Brooklyn, Ohio. We are currently accepting resumes for an energetic and driven Staffing Coordinator to help grow this pristine building. We need someone with a passion for long term care, who wants to help make the Avenue of Brooklyn a household name in the Brooklyn and greater Cleveland community. Staff Coordinator serves as clerical support to the nursing department and reports to the Director of Nursing. Requirements High School Diploma or GED Strong organizational skills Ability to work with a team but also with minimal supervision Self-starter Strong communication skills Ability to multi-task Basic computer skills Long-term care experience preferred Prior staffing experience is a plus Stna or other certification in the nursing field Duties Supports the goals, initiatives, programs and philosophy of the nursing department Schedules the STNAs and restorative aides to meet the State and Federal guidelines and the company standard. Adjusts staffing based on PPD to reflect budget compliance Maintains a record of all actual worked schedules per facility policy Posts the schedule every month, for the next month, by the 20th Accepts call-offs and replaces staff as needed on the schedule Prepares daily staffing assignment sheets Meets with STNA’s as they clock in and make assignment adjustments as needed Maintains attendance records for the STNAs by tracking attendance through on-shift. Keeps track of hours worked throughout the week to help minimize overtime Maintains an accurate schedule via on-shift, utilize on-shift to assist in the filling of staffing holes, and updates census daily in on-shift. Serves on committees as requested Maintains strict confidentiality concerning both residents and staff Assists Director of Nursing in identifying and resolving retention issues Coordinates a training schedule with newly hired STNA’s and ensures they receive proper training Communicates within the nursing department and with other departments in a professional manner Serves as a facility representative at job fairs or other recruitment initiatives as needed Performs other duties within the scope of training as requested by the Director of Nursing 20 hours/week will be dedicated to scheduling and maintaining the schedule Assist in training new staff Must be available to cover call offs or holes as needed Must collaborate with the co-scheduler, and coordinate time off in order to ensure coverage Any changes must be approved by the DON Schedule transportation and escorts as needed in conjuction with Nursing.
