Staff Dining Cook

We are looking for a skilled Team Member Dining Cook to prepare meals for the Bowie House team members. You will prepare meals that will delight our team members. An excellent Team Member Cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the Cafeteria and kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our team members' dining experience.

• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the cafeteria and dish pits
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

Qualifications

• Formal training or education in culinary arts, with a focus on pastry and baking techniques.
• One year Cook II level or previous Cook I experience.
• Proficient in various baking methods, including dough preparation, pastry shaping, and decorating techniques.
• Strong focus on precision and detail to ensure consistency and high-quality presentation of pastries and desserts.
