About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year current PCU experience License: Active nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS & NIH Must-Have: Minimum 1 year current PCU experience BLS, ACLS & NIH Description: Seeking a travel RN for the Progressive Care Unit. This unit features 20 beds. The nursing staff includes RNs and PCTs. Day shift consists of 1 charge RN, 5 nurses, and 3 PCTs. Night shift consists of 1 charge RN, 5 nurses, and 2 PCTs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Equipment utilized includes telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, and SCD pumps. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. Candidates should have extensive neuro experience and PCU/cardiac experience is preferred. Typical procedures performed include chest tube placement, removal of chest tubes, removal of pacer wires, and 12 lead EKGs. Drugs managed on this unit include heparin, tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine. The ideal candidate will be a great team player with high energy. This position offers a fast-paced and challenging environment. It is located in a cardiac center of excellence providing high acuity care.
