Accounting Manager

About The Role The Accounting Manager owns core accounting operations, close processes, and financial reporting for a scaling technology business. The role is responsible for accurate US GAAP reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, revenue and expense analysis, and timely delivery of monthly and quarterly financial statements. You will partner with finance, legal, tax, payroll, and business teams to strengthen controls and support SEC-ready reporting. The role also helps maintain SOX compliance, improve accounting systems and workflows, and prepare the organization for increasing reporting complexity and audit scrutiny. Key Responsibilities Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial statement review Prepare and review US GAAP financial reporting schedules, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and supporting disclosures Own accounting processes for areas such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany activity Maintain and test SOX controls; document control procedures, remediate deficiencies, and coordinate evidence requests with internal and external auditors Operate and improve accounting workflows in ERP and close-management systems such as NetSuite, Workday, BlackLine, or comparable platforms Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to investigate variances, improve forecast inputs, and translate accounting results into clear management reporting Lead audit and regulatory reporting support, ensuring schedules, workpapers, and technical accounting conclusions are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule What We Are Looking For 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a technology company and public-company or SEC reporting environment Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; active CPA license or CPA eligibility preferred Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX controls, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting research Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit management Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Workday, plus advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills Clear written and verbal communication, strong project management, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple stakeholders Bonus: CPA certification, Big Four or national accounting firm experience, IPO or public-company reporting experience, and familiarity with BlackLine, FloQast, or similar close-management tools #J-18808-Ljbffr Evlo AI
