Operations Specialist I Job Location: US-AL-Redstone Arsenal Job ID: 2026-2675 Category: Administrative/Clerical Position Type: Regular Full-Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Overview Provide administrative support to the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center's (RTC's) Aviation Flight Test Directorate (AFTD), Attack & Unmanned Aerial Systems Test Division. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage organizational calendars in Microsoft Outlook and other digital means. Receive and route incoming communications, e.g., telephone calls, e‑mail messages, postal mail. Assist in management of timekeeping records for Government employees in Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS). Track mandatory training using Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC) Training Tracker Module (ATTM). Prepare and edit correspondence in accordance with Army Regulation 25‑50. Prepare purchase requests. Submit and track work orders. Perform on‑site employee in‑ and out‑processing, coordinating all related functions with HR and RDSS II leadership. Manage labor utilization tracking accounts in cloud‑based Tracker application for RDSS II employees. Use RTC's data network and software application CertTRAX to track and monitor currency of RDSS II employees' specialized training, certifications, and status, cold and wet weather clothing allowances, PPE, and Medical Surveillance Program (MSP) requirements. Provide metrics to the Program Manager on contract labor requirements, RFH status, and contract retention. Assist the RDSS II Program Analyst in weekly receipt, review, and coalescing of labor hours for submission to RTC. Assist with material purchase requests, expense reports, and invoicing for accounting staff. Provide on‑site support and liaison with 5SRC Human Resources staff for the Medical Surveillance Program (MSP). Experience, Education, & Licensure High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of experience providing administrative support, including research, statistical reporting, handling information requests, and clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. Preferred Education & Experience Prior military organization employment, either military or civilian, and understanding of military headquarters staff organization, roles, and relationships. Executive-level or senior manager-level administrative support experience. Professional user of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint. Travel None. Work Authorization / Security Clearance DoD Secret or higher security clearance required, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship required. Additional Qualifying Factors Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. A satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references, and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
