Job Description- Senior Database Engineer Location-Remote Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Database Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and optimize database systems that support business-critical applications and data platforms. The role will focus on database performance, reliability, security, scalability, and data integrity. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases .
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
- Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health.
- Perform database tuning, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure data security, integrity, availability, and compliance .
- Support database migrations, upgrades, patching, and version management.
- Work closely with Application, Data Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams.
- Troubleshoot database issues and participate in production incident resolution.
- Automate database administration and operational tasks.
- Establish and maintain database standards, documentation, and best practices.
- Support high-availability and scalable database architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle , or equivalent.
- Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Good understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, transactions, and performance tuning .
- Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.
- Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
- Experience working with cloud database services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform .
- Good understanding of security, access control, and database best practices.
