We are currently recruiting and interviewing for Custodian (Class II - semi-skilled workers) positions for upcoming, anticipated vacancies. Workdays: Monday - Friday; 8 work hours per day; 260 work days per school year; 1st and/or 2nd shifts may be available. Rate-of-Pay for 25/26 SY: Step I = $___ per hour (Step II after 1 year = $___ per hour; Step III after 2 years = $___ per hour) -- pending upcoming approval of Negotiated Agreement effective for 8/1/2025. Other Benefits Include: paid training uniform allowance - $525 per school year shift allowance - additional $1.00 per hour for 2nd shift (beginning at 2:00 p.m. or later) overtime pay - at time and one-half for hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per work week longevity pay - beginning on July 1st after completion of five (5) years-of-service with LCS paid holidays - twelve (12) per school year paid vacations - accrued monthly and available after probationary period is successfully completed paid sick days - accrued at rate of ten (10) hours per month; total of fifteen (15) days per year personal leave - forty-eight (48) hours per school year medical insurance - eligible to elect single or family medical insurance, which includes: medical, dental, vision, and prescription medications (cost varies per coverage-level elected) life insurance - a term life insurance policy for $40,000 (district covers cost) supplemental and/or dependent life insurance - eligible to elect additional, supplemental life insurance or dependent life insurance (cost varies per coverage-level elected) enrollment into the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of building mechanical systems in school buildings.
• Valid Ohio driver's license.
• Ability reading and working from blueprints.
• Knowledge of all areas of maintenance work, including a working knowledge of national, state, and local codes.
• Knowledge of computer maintenance management software;
• Experience with Micro Soft Word and Excel
• Knowledge e-mail and internet

Reports To: Operations Manager assigned Administrator.

Supervises: Responsible for supervising and planning the cleaning staffs assigned work details including any other staff or personnel assigned.

Job Goal: To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop. To keep all district systems and equipment in good working condition, increasing the life expectancy of all equipment and property. To improve the health and welfare standards of the facilities.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Maintain the proper operation and repair of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and building furniture and equipment.
• Maintain the proper operation and repair of all mechanical and custodial tools and equipment, including routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Perform all necessary grounds maintenance such as mowing, weeding, shrubbery maintenance, snow and ice removal, salting, and debris and waste removal.
• Responsible for conducting a weekly roof inspection to insure clearing of roof drains and inspection for defects in all roof surfaces, and inspection of the operation of all roof top equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining building, grounds, equipment, etc. in a safe, sanitary and hazard free condition.
• Responsible for the supervision of all phases of the duties performed by the cleaning staff, with inspections of the cleaning work performed.
• Responsible for receiving, checking and distribution of building deliveries.
• Responsible for setting up and taking down of furniture and equipment needed for any school activity or event.
• Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of cleaning, maintenance and custodial supplies and equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate written records and reports.
• Be skilled in the care and use of tools and equipment assigned.
• Duties may be performed independently or as part of an integrated team.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned. It is understood that duties may be assigned not related to custodial work.
• Coordinates with building Principal and or Building Manager to ensure all planned building activities are prepared in accordance with the needs of the event.
• Works in various buildings and assignments throughout District as needed.
• Ability to provide reasonable precautions to protect materials, equipment and facilities.
• Completes all required reports in timely manner.

Physical & Environmental Responsibilities:

• Required to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, balance, walk, sit and reach.
• Ability to operate and use all types of tools and equipment normally used for building and grounds maintenance and repair.
• Ability to operate assigned vehicle in all types of climatic conditions.
• Ability to maneuver body to shift, brake, and steer assigned vehicle.
• Potential exposure and handling of automotive fuels, fluids and lubricants.
• Ability to hear accurately, corrected or uncorrected.

• Knows and uses safe work procedures.

• Informs supervisor immediately of hazards, unsafe equipment and acts, and recommends solutions to correct deficiencies.
• Actively participates in all District sponsored safety programs and training sessions.
• Immediately reports accidents, injuries, and near misses to supervisor.
• Reports to work in a condition to be able to perform duties safely.
• Follows school district's Safety Plan.
• Attends all scheduled training sessions
