Job Description & Requirements Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri. This position involves providing expert nursing care to adult patients requiring or who have undergone cardiothoracic surgery. The role encompasses managing post-operative cardiac patients, including those with CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR, and LVAD implants, in a magnet and teaching hospital setting. Job Details Certifications: ACLS, BLS; required at time of submittal. Education Requirement: Valid nursing license in the applicable state at time of submittal. Location Requirement: No local candidates accepted within a 75 mile radius. Years of Experience: 2.0 years required; 0 years minimum experience to apply. Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Open to clinicians floating within the service line to meet facility needs. Previous charge experience and experience with cardiac telemetry are preferred. The unit provides care for adult patients requiring cardiothoracic surgery and offers a high acuity environment with patient ratios varying from 1:3 to 1:5. Responsibilities include managing blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, IV titrations, pacemakers, epicardial wires, and managing post-operative cardiac care. Necessary skills include management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, Vasoactive drips, and use of electronic medical record systems with experience in Epic preferred. The assignment start date is scheduled for 11/23/2026 with an end date of 02/22/2027. RTO (Requested Time Off): Max of 7 days must be finalized at time of submission. Pending License accepted; requires MO or compact license for Missouri. Travel experience is not required for application.
