Accountable for translating and achieving our strategic priorities and outcomes: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences. Accountable for providing strategic vision and operational planning for assigned unit. Incumbents will lead an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes. This role is accountable for advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidenced-base practices and professional nursing standards. Provides oversight of unit that is operational and staffed 24 x 7, weekends, and holidays./ppThis is a fully onsite role at Methodist Medical Towers Monday-Friday day shift with availability to round to evenings and weekends./ph3Key Relationships/h3pReports to: Nursing Resource and Staffing Optimization Director/ppDirect Reports: 45-50/ppKey Relationships: Inpatient, Workforce Central, Practice Operations/ph3Candidate Qualifications/h3pCandidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies./pulliRequires a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)./liliIf bachelor degree not in nursing, must have Master of Nursing (MSN)./liliMasters degree in Nursing or related field preferred./liliSpecialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred./liliRequires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license./liliRequired Basic Life Support certification through the AHA./liliOther advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies./li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliAt least 1 year experience as a people leader./liliExperience supporting international nurse recruitment and workforce integration within an acute care hospital or health system, including onboarding, nurse residency, and float pool models./liliDemonstrated commitment to nurse engagement, professional culture, and retention, with hands-on experience fostering inclusive, supportive practice environments that promote belonging, team cohesion, and workforce stability./liliProven ability to work effectively in complex, matrixed environments, collaborating across nursing, HR, legal, finance, and operations to support program implementation and issue resolution./liliWorking knowledge of Joint Commission standards and ANA professional practice expectations, with experience supporting compliance and survey readiness./liliOperational and financial acumen, including experience with budgeting inputs, staffing and scheduling processes, and productivity monitoring./li/ulpIndiana University Health is unlike any other healthcare system and were looking for team members who share the things that matter most to us.
