Assistant Athletics Director

Position Title Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing, Promotions, and Corporate Sponsorships Division and Department Athletics Department (Office) Job Summary The Assistant Athletics Director will develop and execute strategies to expand intercollegiate athletics sponsorship revenue opportunities, build and manage corporate partnerships, and create a vibrant gameday environment. The role involves sales and marketing across multiple sports, leading the development of sponsorship packages, ensuring compliance with NCAA, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to increase revenue. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and implement plans to increase business and capture new prospects, including the sale of sponsorships locally, regionally and nationally. Assure sales and revenue goals related to sponsorship markets and motivate staff to reach program goals. Design and manage in‑game scripting, marketing, and promotions for all sports. Hire and supervise marketing assistants and oversee an intern program. Represent Athletics on university, community, conference, and national committees. Collaborate with communications to produce creative for sales, tickets, and branding. Identify potential corporate partners and establish relationships with key marketing and advertising decision‑makers. Ensure sponsor compliance with NCAA, CC, and UNCP rules regarding corporate partnerships and use of student‑athlete likeness. Develop sponsor packages with inventory across media and set appropriate value for inventory. Oversee sponsor fulfillment for signage, in‑game inventory, and web related signage. Consult with the Director of Athletics on all co‑branded content and involve the Director in the sales process as needed. Determine appropriate sponsor saturation across media in consultation with the Director of Athletics. Work with the Braves Club Executive Director on annual fundraiser initiatives and distribution of season tickets. Serve as the primary point of contact for affinity licensing and merchandise revenue in partnership with the UNCP Bookstore. Lead a brand awareness campaign to extend into the local community. Perform other duties commensurate with experience as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Qualifications Master’s degree, preferably in Business, Public Relations, Sports Administration, or a closely related field. At least two years of experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, professional sports, or a corporate business setting. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
