Summary: Full-scope general surgery practice with dedicated physician, APC, and RN support in OR and clinic. First assist in OR.

Job Description:

• Performs history and physical assessments.
• Manages acute and chronic conditions.
• Orders, conducts, and interprets appropriate diagnostic x-ray and lab tests.
• Involved in teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups.
• Works autonomously as well as collaborates with other health care providers as needed.
• Performs health maintenance activities.
• Assists in surgery.
• Serves as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants, and patient advocate.
• Administers preventative health care methods.
• Performs periodic hospital rounding on inpatients.
• Performs possible in-patient health care.
• Performs other functions as required.

Additional Job Description:

The minimum requirements are as follows:

• For Nurse Practitioner: Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license, and ANCC certification required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
• For Physician Assistant: Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
