What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the stepdown/telemetry unit, managing a patient load of 1:3 with assistance from CNAs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and utilize telemetry monitors, printing strips and tracking patient status
• Administer medications and titratable IV medications (e.g., Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Levophed) as approved
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including hospitalists, RTs, OT, PT, and ST, to ensure comprehensive patient management
• Support patient needs with procedures such as chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and lumbar drains (preferred)
• Complete accurate charting using EMR (Meditech Expanse)
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to ensure a smooth transition into the team
• Uphold hospital protocols and safety standards in a traveler-friendly environment

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in a hospital setting
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Skills: Ability to support titratable medication management, telemetry monitoring, and various bedside procedures
• Preferred: Experience with tracheostomy care, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, lumbar drains, and EKG competency
• Must pass EKG competency exam prior to arrival
