EVENT HOST

To assist the Director of Event Services with developing and overseeing events and services that are scheduled at the Chapel. Greet visitors and provide information concerning rentals/services, architecture and Lena Pope programs and history. Duties include scheduling events/services, greeting visitors, helping with some clerical tasks, helping with managing building maintenance and other assigned duties. Marty Leonard Community Chapel is an integral part of the Lena Pope history and community outreach efforts. We provide information related to value of Chapel and architectural significance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1) Schedule and oversee events and services that take place in the Marty Leonard Community Chapel.2) Greet visitors and provide information concerning events/services, architecture and Lena Pope programs and history.3) Ensure that policy and procedures of the Marty Leonard Community Chapel and Lena Pope are followed during scheduled events.4) Light housekeeping tasks after each event such as picking up trash, emptying trash cans, sweeping floor, wiping down counters, and replacing candles in candelabra.5) Office coverage when Director of Event Services is out.6) Promote an environment of cultural competency and responsiveness for clients, families, staff and stakeholders.PRIMARY DUTIES:1) Schedule, oversee and coordinate events and services that take place in the Marty Leonard Community Chapel.2) Provide information and history concerning the Chapel, Chapel architecture and Lena Pope services and programs to all visitors.3) Help maintain contractual records related to events and services scheduled in the Chapel.4) Help with some financial record keeping related to events and services scheduled in the Chapel.5) Light housekeeping tasks after each event such as picking up trash and emptying trash cans, sweeping floor, wiping down counters, replacing candles in candelabra.6) Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:1) Educational/Certification: High School Diploma or GED. Driver’s license required.2) Required Knowledge: Knowledge of computer skills is required. Knowledge of Lena Pope programs, history and chapel architecture is required.3) Experience Preferred: At least one year of experience in event management.4) Skills/Abilities: Strong oral and written communication abilities; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; excellent organizational skills; excellent human relations skills.5) Other Requirements – Must have a driving record which is within the guidelines of the insurance underwriter.
