Patron Services Associate

Town Hall Seattle seeks a seasonal, part-time Patron Services Associate to oversee Town Hall’s day-of ticketing activities. The Patron Services Associate (PSA) is responsible for processing ticket orders and running the day-of-event box office with front-of-house volunteers. As the first line of contact for many of Town Hall’s patrons and the general public, the Patron Services Associate serves as an ambassador for the organization and its continued growth, development, and success. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Production, with oversight by the Patron Services and Volunteer Coordinator, the PSA works closely with the shift House Manager to manage day-of-show logistics and public safety. Shifts vary but are typically 4-6 hours in length. Shift duration and frequency is based on event needs. Evening and weekend hours are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Oversee day-of-event ticketing and front of house operations for Town Hall produced events. Process ticket transactions with cash and credit cards. Support box office tracking, reporting, and data collection. Act as the primary day-of-event on-site contact for front of house volunteers; assign duties, train individuals as needed, and report shift completion for each event. Set up event-related furniture (e.g., tables, chairs, and music stands, signage, etc.) and strike and reset as needed to prepare for the following day’s events. Encourage audience engagement with upcoming programs/events. Provide in-person and remote (email & phone) customer support; lead by example and respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and requests. Spearhead accessibility efforts. Assist members of the public with special needs, including early and reserved seating for mobility impaired persons. Coordinate with staff to ensure the clean, secure, and event-ready operation of the building. This may at times include interacting with the unhoused community in our neighborhood. Assist in training new PSA’s by shadowing, answering questions, offering guidance as able. Actively engage in work with a positive attitude as a member of the Town Hall team. Ensure that all interactions are culturally responsive, respectful, and based on a foundation of Town Hall’s commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Assume crowd control and/or evacuation responsibility during emergencies in consultation with House Manager and building staff. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of one year of experience in a service-oriented role required. Ability to work a schedule as assigned by Production leadership and as dictated by the monthly event calendar (typically 10-20 hours per week) and ability and willingness to work long hours when necessary. Must be able to work a varied and flexible schedule including evenings and weekends (minimum of two weekends per month). Proven success working with volunteers and/or the public, preferably in an events-related capacity. Familiarity with box office procedures, POS systems, volunteer oversight, and experience with donor and membership cultivation a plus. Highly accurate with attention to detail and proven ability to reconcile cash sales accurately. Flexible, collegial, and self-directed working style with a sense of humor. Passionate about the performing arts, cultural advocacy, and books. Ability to work quickly and independently, to think clearly under pressure, problem solve and prioritize needs, and to maintain a calm and friendly demeanor when dealing with the public. Punctual and dependable. Ability to consistently display a positive, friendly, and energetic attitude and professional appearance. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., and work on one’s feet for several hours at a time navigating stairs easily and standing or walking 75% of the time. COMPENSATION AND STRUCTURE

Starting hourly rate is $22/hour and the position is non-exempt. This position is intermittent and seasonal, from September-June, with potential limited summer hours. Paid sick and safe time, per Washington state law. Meal stipend based on shift eligibility. Subsidized ORCA card for travel to and from shifts. Applications are requested by July 24, 2026.
