Talascend is currently seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Dallas, Texas .


Overview


The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across various systems. The role requires technical expertise in one craft area with multi-skilled capabilities in others to ensure the proper functioning of the building's mechanical and electrical systems.


Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems of the facility.
• Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
• Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to ensure optimal performance of HVAC and related systems.
• Record readings and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Follow safety protocols for hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Conduct periodic checks of tools and inventory.
• Monitor the quality and cost of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
• Adhere to safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize and eliminate hazards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• EPA 608 Type II Certification.
• Proficiency with computer applications including Word and Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
