Skilled in Product and Process Problem Solving and active in continuous improvement related to Safety, Quality, and Innovation. Work is performed in a supporting and encouraging environment located in a manufacturing facility where creativity and initiative are encouraged. We are seeking a bright, hardworking candidate interested in working in a fast paced, high-tech manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical abilities and interpersonal skills allowing them to achieve in a strong, supportive, team environment. As a member of the Quality Engineering Team, you will directly support a highly automated, three-shift manufacturing operation. Central focus regarding Quality for Global Propulsion System (GPS) across the entire development process, through manufacturing and into the field. This role works closely with Manufacturing, Process, Product as well as Mechanical and Controls Engineering to assure manufacture of quality products.What You'll Do:Develop engineering solutions that result in Continuous Improvement in the areas of Safety, Uptime, and QualityUse data to identify process conditions and develop solutionsEarly issue identification, problem-solving, and corrective action tracking and resolutionSummarize and evaluate reject and defect data to drive continuous improvementProvide statistical analysis of manufacturing process dataCritical role in change management to assure no effect on product qualityVerify compliance to quality requirements and proceduresCommunication and coordinate information to and from internal and external customersCollaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutionsRemain flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolutionSupport corporate and local Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) goals related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and EnvironmentYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field(s).Experience with Quality System (PPAP, AIAG, APQP, OR equivalent systems)Ability to understand and assess complex Engineering issuesProficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office SuiteFamiliar with Minitab or other statistical software (QDAS highly preferred!)Knowledge of common problem-solving methodologies (Six-Sigma, RedX, Shainin, 5-Why, Fishbone, PDCA)Entry-level understanding and proficiency in 3D CAD environments (Solidworks)What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Quality knowledgeAbility to evaluate conformance to documented product and process specificationsFamiliar with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)Statistical Process Control (SPC)Containment and understanding of customer satisfaction metricsProblem Solving Certification/Lean Six Sigma Belt CertificationUnderstanding of ISO/IATF quality requirementsSQL/database knowledge2+ years experience working in manufacturing environment(s)Ability to multi-task, support several projects and assign priority appropriatelyStrong organizational skills – managing information from multiple locations and sourcesAbility to work both independently and within teamsBe open to learning and mentorshipCompensation:The expected base compensation for this role is: $69,900 - $107,300.00.
