Purchasing Clerk

The West Hartford office of SNI Companies is hiring a Purchasing Clerk . This position supports the Purchasing Department by performing clerical tasks under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager. Job Details Job Title: Purchasing Clerk Location: Milford, CT Pay: $20.00/hr Schedule: Mon-Fri 1 st shift 7:30am-4:00pm with flexibility for extended hours as needed. Occasional travel may be required for inter-facility coordination. Work Environment: Manufacturing floor with exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures. Responsibilities Provide a variety of clerical and other associated duties in support of the entire purchasing function. Required to purchase assigned office supplies, equipment and services. Process purchase requisitions. Expedite open orders to ensure on-time deliveries. Data entry and maintenance of purchase orders, requests for quotation and general correspondence. Answer incoming telephone calls and direct as needed. Co-ordinate the processing of receiving reports, invoices, and the sorting of incoming mail and filing, to maintain a prompt flow of paperwork through the department. Maintain good vendor relations through the practice of ethical purchasing practices. Preventative expediting of open purchase orders and using M.R.P. system to determine status of blanket order releases for various assigned product lines. Requirements Experience working in the aerospace industry, supply chain, or quality assurance. Basic knowledge of industry standards and quality systems, including AS9100, NADCAP and ISO standards.
