Compliance OfficerLC State invites applications for the position of Compliance Officer. Salary and rank are based on experience and qualifications: $85,000 - $89,000.Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and manage complex logistics independently and under pressure, while applying sound discretionary decision-making.Strong analytical, writing, and editing skills, with experience evaluating information, identifying problems and alternatives, developing recommendations, and preparing complex documents and official correspondence for diverse audiences.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively use enterprise, risk management, insurance, and other administrative software systems.Good knowledge of property, casualty, or workers' compensation insurance contracts and related insurance industry procedures; insurance terminology.Experience in interpreting and explaining provisions of insurance policies including coverages, limits, exclusions, and appropriateness of coverage for desired result.Experience in identifying and resolving insurance problems for commercial insurers; explaining technical insurance-related information in common terms; reviewing and interpreting insurance documents; calculating insurance premiums using mathematical analysis and survey techniques.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.Direct experience working with state or governmental risk management programs, insurance policies, or compliance frameworks.Professional experience in higher education, government, or similarly complex organizational environments.Knowledge of records management and retention practices, including compliance with state or federal regulations.Familiarity with risk management software platforms or insurance tracking tools.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Responsibilities:Manage the risk management program for the institution and work collaboratively with the Department of Administration's Risk Management Program to help reduce exposure and control the cost of loss.Serve as the primary institutional liaison for liability insurance, overseeing claims management, certificates of insurance, policy implementation, and renewals to ensure adequate and continuous coverage.Manage and update all institutional insurance policies, including large property, leased and owned vehicles, small property insurance, vehicles, and other policies, utilizing state software systems to maintain accurate records.Coordinate any insurance-related site visits.Develop, implement, and maintain liability waivers for high-risk events and activities, ensuring compliance with institutional and state guidelines.Maintain comprehensive documentation of all risk management activities.Establish and maintain procedures for reporting injuries, property damage, theft, and accidents. This includes working with key campus constituencies to standardize internal and external communication to parties involved with the aforementioned incidents.Administers budgets for Risk Management.Support institutional compliance efforts by assisting with compliance-related activities and coordinating with campus departments, the Chief Compliance Officer, and the Compliance Committee as appropriate, potentially including research and report generation related to compliance issues.Assist in the preparation of state-required compliance reports, internal audit responses, and internal conflict-of-interest responses.Ensure that all Risk Management websites and related webpages are accurate and up to date.Researches and interprets applicable laws, policies, and other regulatory requirements into guidance that informs institutional decision-making to minimize and respond to risk.Provides guidance on risk-related events as they occur, including those that activate the emergency operations structure, which may occur after normal business hours.Supports risk-related tabletop exercises and employee training.Other duties as assigned.Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.Application Procedure: Please upload all of the following documents or your application may not be considered for review.Cover Letter/Letter of InterestResume/Curriculum VitaeContact Information for three (3) Professional ReferencesUnofficial Transcripts (Official Transcripts requested upon hire)This position is open until filled.
