Inpatient Rehabilitation Nurse

Location: Rochester, NH

This unit specializes in inpatient rehabilitation with a total of 19 beds and a staff-to-patient ratio of 6:1. The day shift team typically consists of a charge nurse, three registered nurses, two certified nursing assistants, and one to three sitters, while staffing during night shifts may vary.

The unit is equipped with essential rehabilitation equipment, including mechanical lifts, Sara Steady devices, Baxter pumps, and Kangaroo pumps. The electronic medical record (EMR) system in use is Meditech.

Required Skills

• Experience in rehabilitation or medical-surgical nursing
• Proficient in intravenous (IV) therapy

Preferred Skills

• Wound care management
• Experience with stroke patients
• Experience with traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Typical Procedures

• Rehabilitation treatment plans
• Patient assessments and evaluations
• Care coordination

The ideal candidate will be flexible, kind, and thorough in their approach to patient care.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Floating Areas

This role may require floating to Critical Care Unit (CCU), Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), and Emergency Room (ER) departments as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs in plain colors are required for all staff members.

Work Schedule

This position requires working every other weekend.
