Mail Order Pharmacist (Part-Time)

Rx relief is seeking a detail-oriented Mail Order Pharmacist for a part-time, temporary assignment in Gaithersburg, MD. This non-patient-facing role is perfect for an experienced pharmacist looking for a highly competitive pay rate of $73/hour and a predictable, flexible schedule.

In this role, you will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of a high-volume mail order fulfillment operation. You will focus primarily on final prescription verification, quality control, and workflow supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prescription Verification: Perform final clinical verification of data entry and product accuracy for all filled prescriptions in a high-volume mail order environment.
• Drug Utilization Review (DUR): Review patient medication profiles to identify potential therapeutic duplications, drug-drug interactions, incorrect dosages, or adverse reactions.
• Technician Supervision: Oversee and direct the daily workflow of pharmacy technicians to ensure seamless fulfillment, safety, and productivity.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with state and federal laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Quality Assurance: Utilize automated pharmacy systems and technology to ensure the highest standard of accuracy, tracking, and quality control.
• Clinical Problem Solving: Intervene and collaborate with prescribers or insurance providers to resolve clinical or administrative issues when necessary.

Job requirements include:

• Education: PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Active and in good standing with the Maryland (MD) Board of Pharmacy.
• Multi-State Licenses (Highly Preferred): Preference will be given to candidates who are multi-licensed and hold active credentials in the following states: AL, AR, CA, LA, MD, NE, OK, OR, and TX.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of non-patient-facing pharmacy experience (Mail Order, Managed Care, PBM, or Long-Term Care preferred).
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and comfort working with high-volume, automated pharmacy computer systems.

Additional requirements include:

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Comprehensive background check and drug screening required.
• Health screenings and immunization verification may be required.
